The design

A one off in South Africa, Matt Hansen and the team were able to play the late sunset into night set. The colors of the show started off with warm ambers, pinks, and light blues. The goal was to match the color of the sky as the sun went down. By the end of the set, we were in deep blues, indigos, and violets. This was a festival slot, and I was restricted to the lighting rig that was provided by the festival. Featuring Robe Pointes, Robe Tetras, Robe Spiiders, Robe Mega Pointes, and conventionals. We were able to utilize an upstage, ground-row, of fixtures supplied by the festival. This ground-row was utilized as backlight for the band, and to produce some interesting strobey backlight moments towards the end of the set when the music called for it.

The technical

The rig was prepared by the on-site lighting technicians. I was responsible for merging my lighting network into theirs. I also utilized ArtNet to send OSC control to Resolume from the GrandMA3 Lighting Console.
